2011

June : "Biodiversity in the face of adversity" (pdf - 181 Ko)
In 2010, the Veolia Environnement Foundation and the authorities for the French Western and Antarctic lands (TAAF) signed a partnership to protect biodiversity in the Iles Eparses—or Scattered Islands as they are sometimes known—the French islands in the Indian Ocean. The first step involved cleaning up beaches on Juan de Nova.

February : "Tackling the problem at its source" (pdf - 340 Ko)
Clean drinking water is a cornerstone of the campaign to eliminate cholera in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Humanitarian, medical, technical and financial organizations have teamed up as part of a program to combat the disease, backed by the Veolia Environnement Foundation.

2010

October : "A child-friendly school" (pdf - 177 Ko).
The goals of Child-Friendly Schools are to create child-centered schools which take a comprehensive view of each child's wellbeing (health, nutrition, family and community life) and create an environment that promotes learning. This ambitious UNICEF initiative in Moldova receives support from the Veolia Environnement Foundation.

June: "Biodiversity, an operational approach" (pdf - 110 Ko).
Environmental conservation ranks alongside outreach and workforce development as one of the Foundation's three major areas of involvement. Over the past seven years, the Foundation has supported 169 conservation projects ranging from highly localized initiatives to actions of international scope.

June: "At the school of the sea" (pdf - 270 Ko).
The purpose of the "Book of Resources" at the School of the Sea is to guide teachers and educators and provide a tool for non-profit groups and local governments committed to the future of the Mediterranean coast. The project receives support from the Veolia Environnement Foundation.

April: "Haiti The urgency that precedes reconstruction" (pdf - 189 Ko).
Haiti is now in the process of recovery after being devastated by a violent earthquake on the morning of January 12. With the initial terror now over, emergency services are steadily making headway, with the help of humanitarian organizations. Veoliaforce is among those working quietly behind the scenes to bring crucial aid.

April: "The last mile La Petite Reine" (pdf - 232 Ko).
La Petite Reine, the French nickname for a bicycle, is a company specializing in urban last-mile parcel deliveries. It hires people returning to the workforce to drive its electric tricycles. Veolia Environnement Foundation provides financial backing and technical support.

2009

February: "The Art of Materials" (pdf - 214 ko).
Since August 2008,the Gennevilliers waste sortingand transfer center hasshared space with Extramuros®l'atelier, a company that hiresthe long-term unemployedand designs and makeseveryday items using recycledmaterials. Feature article.

December: "Happy Sailing Tara" (pdf - 630 ko).
Setting sail from Lorient, France on September 5, the three-year Tara Oceans expedition will study plankton across the world's oceans and rely on the input of a large scientific community.

December: "Training employee Volunteers" (pdf - 594 Ko).
Before setting out on an emergency humanitarian or development mission, new volunteers with Veoliaforce—the Veolia Environnement Foundation's operational arm—receive outdoor training. This entails three days of hands-on and theoretical instruction and discussion.

2008

August: "China-Myanmar: water is life" (pdf - 282ko)
First Myanmar (Burma), then China, announced an appalling cumulative figure of more than 200,000 people dead or missing and at least 8 million homeless! Although there is certainly cause to examine the causes of the frequency and magnitude of such disasters, the only thing that really counts is action to alleviate the suffering of their victims. Veoliaforce hasmobilized its expertise.

June: "Hives of peace" (pdf - 307ko)
The Colombian region of Cordoba is slowly coming out of its years of guerilla warfare. To encourage the return of peace, the UN is installing beehives. The idea is to help coca growers become beekeepers. The Veolia Foundation supports the initiative.

February: "A center that cares for despair" (pdf - 1665ko)
Stérience (Dalkia) is providing a sterilization unit and a laundry as a means of contributing to the construction of a burn center in Afghanistan equipped to treat victims of third-degree burns. The support of the Veolia Foundation makes this project an exemplary combination of skill-giving and financial giving.

2007

October: "Sponsors around the world" (pdf - 120 ko)
Denisse, Frank, Katerina, Arnon, Abdel and Maxime. These Veolia employees are also Veolia Foundation sponsors. With one thing in common: the simple values of solidarity that are in keeping with Veolia's international growth.

April: "Building a better world for the past three years" (pdf - 189 ko)
Passion, involvement and action—these are the driving forces of the Veolia Environnement Foundation. Honoring its founding goals, the Foundation continues its mission to support community welfare and sustainable development.

February : "Meet two women who work from the heart" (pdf - 938 ko)
Monais, European and Maggy, African. Their lives are devoted to rebuilding other's - from women living on the streets in France to female soldiers and children left orphaned by the war in Burundi.

2006

February: "Kinkeliba" (pdf - 486 ko)
An association creates a healthcare centre in the heart of the bush to combat plagues and mother and child mortality in southwestern Senegal.

June: « Mahajanga » (pdf - 2353 ko)
In Madagascar, the non-profit group, Children of the World - Human Rights, gives new hope to children threatened by illness, exhaustion from physical labor, crime and prostitution.

August: "The Prize for live" (pdf - 729 ko)
The Veolia Environment Foundation awarded its first "Environnement Book prize. The award was given to Robert Barbault for his book "An Elephant in a Game of Skittles".

August (bis) : "Using microcredit to fight poverty" (pdf - 185 ko )
In Brazil and India, the Veolia Environnement Corporate Foundation supports microcredit programs for populations excluded from the banking system.

November: "Travel and Sport for all"  (pdf - 1321 ko)
Sport fosters integration, and when offered to young disabled pupils, it can help them find their bearings at school, and can even produce future Paralympic champions. The Veolia Environnement Foundation lends it support to such campaigns.

November (bis): "The number of VE Foundation sponsors keeps growing" (pdf - 218 ko)
Up and running for a year and a half, the Veolia Environnement Foundation continues to focus on its mission, bolstered by the support of company employees. Nearly 200 of our employees - vital links between the foundation and the field - have volunteered as sponsors.

2005

February : "Creating color for tiny patients" (pdf - 285 ko)
A museum, a hospital, a VE employee and private foundation work together to decorate the basement areas of the Armand-Trousseau Hospital and brighten the surrounding of hospitalized kids.

July : "The Foundation fights exclusion" (pdf - 573 ko)
Job creation is one of the Veolia Environnement Foundation's top three priorities.

November : "Veolia Environnement and Clean Up the World, join forces" (pdf - 447 ko)
The Foundation provides Clean Up the World with material aid and Veolia Environnement employee volunteers from all over the world.

2004
