“The circular economy – creating social and environmental value”

The Conversation, a news website, is launching a circular economy section with the support of the Veolia Foundation. Thierry Vandevelde, the Foundation’s executive officer, was interviewed by a representative of the website as part of the launch.

The Conversation disseminates information and analyses the news. The website has no paywall and publishes articles online aimed at the general public and written by researchers and academics. The idea is to offer quality content produced by authors with subject expertise, who analyse and put into context the issues.

The Conversation has recently launched a Circular Economy section with the support of the Veolia Foundation. Thierry Vandevelde, the Foundation’s executive officer, was interviewed to launch the section. Vandevelde is an advocate of the circular economy, as he believes that it adds “social and environmental value”, and in the interview he contrasted the circular economy with the current economic models, and spoke about its pillars, the conditions needed for it to be implemented, and ways of further disseminating it. This contribution fuels the ambition of improving knowledge dissemination. In fact, The Conversation’s analysis of the news is taken up by traditional media outlets.
