The Veolia Foundation supports non-profit, general-interest projects in three areas. Candidate projects seeking support must fall under humanitarian aid and development, be related to the environment and biodiversity, or fit within the social sphere and inclusion.

2 | Identify a sponsor
A request for support from the Foundation must be submitted by a Veolia employee who commits to becoming its sponsor. This sponsor serves as the link between the project partner and the Foundation, regularly meets with the project leader, and checks the relevance of the initiative against the Foundation's criteria. They assess the technical and financial feasibility of the project, assist the project leader throughout the application process, and monitor the project through to its completion.
3 | Understand project evaluation: our assessment criteria
Project evaluation is based on several criteria, assessed by the Foundation team before submitting the project to its governance bodies.

- The Foundation prioritizes supporting projects that can incorporate skills sponsorship from Veolia employees.
- This sharing of Veolia expertise can come from all our business lines and involve employees regardless of their roles.

📍 Geographic focus
The Foundation gives priority to the following countries or zones:
- North America
- South America: Brazil, Chile, Colombia
- Europe
- Africa, Near and Middle East: Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Africa, United Arab Emirates
- Asia Pacific: Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand
🌱 Sustainability and replicability
- Projects must be sustainable and/or replicable.
- The Foundation does not support one-off projects (e.g. events). In addition, projects must have established evaluation criteria for their actions, with clearly defined and quantified objectives.
📈 Financing
- The Foundation mainly finances projects between €10,000 and €80,000. Its commitment may not represent more than 66% of the total amount of the project, nor less than 10%.
- The Foundation finances project capital expenditure. A minority share for training may be accepted if it contributes to the sustainability of the project.
When applying for support, please ensure that your project meets these criteria so that your application can be considered by the Veolia Foundation.
🗓️ Application schedule
Applications can be submitted throughout the year and are reviewed on a rolling basis. They are then presented to one of the Foundation's governance bodies (Selection Committee or Board of Directors) according to the following schedule:
By September 15: for review during the October or December sessions.
By February 15: for review during the April or June sessions.
