By way of example, France recently airlifted 20 metric tons of humanitarian aid equipment to Iraqi Kurdistan for storage and distribution of potable water (reservoirs and distribution ramps), including 12.5 metric tons provided by the Veolia Foundation.
The French Red Cross, an historic partner to the Foundation for humanitarian emergencies and present in Kurdistan to support displaced Iraqis, took charge of the equipment delivered. In the last two months, a succession of Veolia Foundation volunteers have travelled to the area to assist the Red Cross teams with assembly and installation of this equipment, which will provide potable water for 50,000 people.
