In May 2023, the Metropole de Lyon launched a call for projects for the creation of a 3,620 m² hybrid third-party space on the former Thyssen site in Villeurbanne. The aim is to create an emblematic and innovative space that can accommodate structures working in the circular economy and textiles. The Association pour un Pôle Territorial de l'Economie Circulaire (Aptec) (Association for a Territorial Cluster for the Circular Economy) has taken on the task of coordinating this space. A dozen players in the local, inclusive and circular economy have been brought together to share logistics and certain technical aspects in particular.

The project aims to promote job development in the green and circular economy by creating inclusive career paths. In particular, the cluster's vocation revolves around the employability of its integration employees in these trades in the textile industry, the green industry and the circular economy in general. Pathways to these future-oriented jobs have been announced. Logistical and industrial production resources will be made available to the recycling sector. Support from the Veolia Foundation will enable the Metropole de Lyon to fit out the premises.
