On July 8, 2026, in Rabat, the Veolia Foundation officially launched its new Veoliaforce Regional Hub. Designed to bring emergency expertise and equipment closer to field operations, this new branch is already backed by a strategic partnership with the Moroccan Red Crescent to maximize the impact of humanitarian interventions across the region.
Morocco: A Strategic Crossroads for Humanitarian Action
For more than twenty years, the Veolia Foundation has stood by the world’s most vulnerable populations. With over 1,500 projects supported and 200 skills sponsorship missions completed, the Foundation is now reaching a new operational milestone. Establishing this regional hub in Rabat aims to optimize the responsiveness and logistics of its humanitarian efforts across Africa and the Middle East, particularly for equipment storage and team training.
The choice of the Kingdom of Morocco is no coincidence. It reflects the Veolia Group’s long-standing presence in the country for nearly 25 years. It also leverages Morocco’s unique geographical and diplomatic position as a key player in international cooperation and regional solidarity.
Training and Equipping to Respond to Crises
The opening of the hub was marked by an intensive training session for dozens of Veolia employees learning the ropes of humanitarian deployment. The program featured hands-on exercises and technical mastery of equipment designed by the Veolia Foundation for humanitarian relief—such as the Aquaforce mobile water treatment units, which are absolutely vital during humanitarian crises.
A Major Partnership with the Moroccan Red Crescent
To coincide with the opening of this regional hub, the Veolia Foundation and the Moroccan Red Crescent signed a partnership agreement to strengthen their cooperation. This agreement includes mobilizing Veoliaforce volunteers through skills sponsorship to share technical expertise, provide training on the Foundation's equipment, and participate in humanitarian emergency preparation, coordination, and response efforts.
The ultimate objective is to combine the Foundation's technical expertise in water and sanitation with the Moroccan Red Crescent's deep-rooted local presence through its extensive network of committees and volunteers.
