Fédération du Var pour la Pêche et la Protection du Milieu Aquatique

Since its creation in 1942, the Fédération du Var pour la Pêche et la Protection du Milieu Aquatique has been working for the sustainable development of fishing. The goal involves measures to protect aquatic environments and developing fishing facilities in the area.

In particular the Federation promotes access for as many people as possible to the lake in Sainte Suzanne. This water reservoir, also known as "Lac de Carcès", is owned by the municipality of Toulon, which has made it available to several stakeholders, including the Fédération du Var pour la Pêche. In particular, the organisation is leading a project to develop access to the lake for people with reduced mobility.

With the support of the Veolia Foundation, it plans to build a fishing pontoon on an area that is easily accessible by vehicle. The lake’s drawdown zone is relatively narrow, which will allow people to fish for the majority of the fishing season.

The project is complemented by an education centre, located on the ground floor of the Domaine de Brauch, which will provide just over 100 m² for biodiversity awareness. A promise of sharing based a common interest in our natural environment.
