Let’s take on the SDG challenge!

Thanks to support from the Veolia Foundation, a new MOOC devoted to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has emerged. Intended for a launch next September, it will show how anyone can get involved and take part, on their own level, in this worldwide ambition to live more harmoniously together.

Relevons le défi des ODD ! - Mooc sur les ODD
Back in September 2015, the United Nations’ 193 member states adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030. In this way, they have made a commitment to significantly improve current conditions worldwide in matters of climate, society, the environment and the economy. The challenge consists in finding solutions collectively, nationwide and globally in how to live well, to live better for ourselves and for future generations. This new sustainable development project, called “The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, is an ambitious but inescapable action plan to develop world peace, protect the planet and curb poverty.

The UVED Foundation, with Veolia Foundation support, provides a means to learn about the topic by taking a four-week online course. This new MOOC devoted to SDGs aims at informing you, raising your awareness and encouraging you to get involved. What are you going to find in this course? You will find keys to help you understand those 17 SDGs and the way in which they interact with one another, as well as tools to better take them into consideration, ideas and suggestions for concrete action and some examples of initiatives and experiments that have already been launched.

33 experts on hand

Pierre Victoria, directeur du développement durable de Veolia
The “SDG” MOOC has brought together a team of 33 experts from France and abroad, from North and South, and from both the academic and non-academic worlds. Among the experts we find Veolia’s Sustainable Development Director Pierre Victoria, who comes on in the 4th week, focused on “players who take possession of SDGs”, a theme assigned to the scientific supervision of Comité 21 Chairperson Bettina Laville.

Registration is now open!
Then your next step is on September 3rd for a six-week course.
